Our Story
Based in Johnsburg, Illinois, the company was founded by Art Bentz in 1999. For over 20 years, Art worked for commercial roofing contractors, learning the trade inside and out. Art began to envision bringing metal roofing to residential neighborhoods–to people who could really use the longevity and energy efficiency that metal roofing provides.
With his family by his side, he began with only a few employees. He bought an old landscaping building in Fox Lake, IL and began to spread the word that he was bringing a new kind of roofing to the area. From there, things took off. Since then the business has become one of Northern Illinois’ top roofing contractor companies, due largely to the important relationships and network of referrals that AMB has built over the years.
In September of 2011, AMB moved into a new facility in Johnsburg. We now employ eight professional crews, which specialize in everything from metal roofing, to shingles, to gutters and siding.

Art Bentz
President
Learn About Art
Art founded AMB in June 1999. He had a strong desire to own his own roofing company, and be able to bring metal roofing into the residential sector. He has been in the roofing industry his entire career, and found a passion for the industry early on in life. He spent much of his early career as a project manager for a large commercial roofing company, specializing in flat roofs and architectural sheetmetal. Art is very hands on in the field. He oversees the commercial crews, and manages the commercial projects. He leads his team of office staff and 8 crews with his strong knowledge and passion for what he does. He is continuously adapting and integrating new technology and methods into our roofing services.
Laura Niemi
Vice President
Learn About Laura
Laura joined the AMB team in spring of 2012. She has returned to the family business from a short term period of which she was a stay at home mom. As the Vice President, she runs all aspects of the front office. She is in charge of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Laura communicates with our customers about the progress of their project, and she provides the necessary documentation such as AIA forms and lien waivers for payment. She completes all paperwork associated for all projects. Along with a strong construction background, she has experience working in the medical industry.
Jason Niemi
Sales Manager

Jason has been a project coordinator/estimator for AMB since 2009. He sells residential and commercial roofing, as well as all exterior services. He is very knowledge with both steep and low slope roofing systems. He works closely with homeowners to go over ever detail of their project. He has many years of experience working with general contractors, building owners, and property managers to find their roofing needs. He coordinates all aspects of his projects. He regularly attends product and safety training seminars for the most cutting edge and up to date industry information. Prior to sales at AMB, he was an installer of all residential and commercial roofing for five years.
Justin Basara

Justin joins our AMB team here in 2021. Justin has an extensive background in home improvement retail management and contractor services. For the last 15 years, Justin has worked closely with contractors, homeowners, property management and business owners on a wide array of projects. being hands on from initial consultation, throughout the entire project and process until completion.
We know his experience and attention to detail will be a great addition to the AMB Family!
Jadie Ortega
Office Manager

Jadie joined AMB in 2016 and has been an essential part of the team ever since. She’s the friendly face you see as soon as you walk into our office and the go-to person for just about anything you need. From preparing, maintaining, and updating files to handling all permit paperwork, she keeps things running smoothly. She also manages customer communications, schedules appointments, oversees social media advertising, and answers phone calls. Jadie wears many hats around the office and is always ready to help. If you have a question about a job at AMB, she either has the answer or will find it for you! She holds an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science Administrative Office Management, along with Certificates in Administrative Office Skills and Administrative Office Management.
We’re lucky to have her as such a vital part of our team!

Arturo joined AMB Roofing in April 2025 as an Estimator, working directly under Jason to support both residential and commercial roofing projects. In this role, Arturo assists with developing accurate and detailed estimates based on blueprints, on-site appointments, and project specifications, ensuring clear and reliable pricing for clients. With strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach, Arturo plays an important role in supporting the estimating process and helping projects move forward efficiently and smoothly.
Amber Basara
Accounts Receivable / Finance Manager

Amber joined our AMB team in November of 2022. She has vast experience in office maintenance, customer service, and project financing. She also has an extensive background in construction and home improvement, and has worked with contractors, homeowners, and property managers. She will be helping with financing, accounts payable, and support for our sales and office staff. Amber is willing and able to answer any questions about your project with AMB.

Sheet Metal Manager

Our Sheet Metal Manager oversees all aspects of our sheet metal work, both in the shop and on the job site. Highly detail-oriented and extremely knowledgeable, he ensures every piece of metal work is fabricated and installed with precision.
From chimney and valley flashings to custom metal solutions, he is our go-to expert for all flashing needs. His skill, reliability, and attention to detail make him an invaluable part of our team, and we are proud to have him with us.

Charlie Waldron

Charlie has been a project coordinator/estimator with AMB since 2004. He has been in the construction industry since 1999. He enjoys working on both commercial and residential projects, and has a great deal of experience working with property management companies, general contractors, as well as property owners. Charlie is knowledgable with both steep and low slope roofing systems as well as siding, gutters, windows, and custom fabrication. He has received training and certifications from several manufacturers including: GAF, AirVent, MuleHide, Atlas, Firestone, Owens Corning, Decra, and Berridge. He regularly attends product seminars in order to stay up to date with our product lines.
